Latest stable release

You can install from the official source package by typing the following comands :

$ cd /tmp
$ tar -zxf pykoticon-x.yy.tar.gz
$ cd pykoticon-x.yy
$ python setup.py install

Under MS-Windows, you can install from the official binary package simply by unzipping it in the destination directory of your choice. Then you'll optionally modify the pykoticon.vbs script to better suit your needs, and ensure it gets executed for all users at login time by any mean of your choice (the netlogon script is a good solution).

Latest development release

The latest development version of PyKotIcon is always available from subversion. You can download and install it by typing the following commands :

$ cd /tmp
$ svn co http://svn.pykota.com/pykoticon/trunk pykoticon
$ cd pykoticon
$ python setup.py install

NB : for the installation script to work, you have to ensure that both python and python-dev or python-devel packages are installed first.

Of course, the latest development version can contain bugs or may not work at all. That's why you may prefer to download the latest stable release of PyKotIcon, including binary packages for MS Windows and possibly other operating systems.
