'pknotify' is a tool which can be used either from the command line or launched from the 'cupspykota' backend while printing, through directives in 'pykota.conf'

'pknotify' can connect to a remote PyKotIcon application running on a printing client host, and either :

  - Ask some datas to the end user.

  - Send informational messages to the end user.

  - Ask the enduser to confirm or cancel an operation.

'pknotify' and 'PyKotIcon''s greatest strength is the fact that they are completely unlimited in what they can do, and  they can be used outside of PyKota, for example if the admin has to send an urgent notification to all end users, he can do so easily using 'pknotify', provided that 'PyKotIcon' is running on the client machines.

You'll usually launch 'pknotify' from PyKota's configuration directives though. See the command's manual page for examples.
